Church of St. John of St. Paul

FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK
I wanted to bring a couple of items to your attention for the coming weeks.  Remember that during the Holy Year I'll be hearing Confessions for an extended amount of time. We have the great opportunity to avail ourselves or a loved one, for a Plenary Indulgence. We can apply this great gift to ourselves or to a loved one in  Purgatory who have proceeded us into Eternity. Remember by participating in this extraordinary grace we have the opportunity to take away all the temporal punishment due to personal or Original Sin that may have affected us or one of our loved ones.

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday confessions will be heard from 7 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. (If we have an abundance of people I will hear confessions after the Mass as well.)
  • On Saturday you will be able to go to confession twice during the day. In the morning you will be able to receive the sacrament at 8 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. In the afternoon you will be able to receive the Sacrament from 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m.
  • If we have huge crowds I will be happy to hear the confessions after Mass's as well.
  • During the Holy Year we have a great opportunity to receive the Plenary Indulgence, either for ourselves or someone who has proceeded us into Eternity.  I will be providing prayer cards and a brief explanation for fulfilling the Indulgence, that will be available in the back of Church next week for those who wish to participate without going on a Pilgrimage.  (Remember you can go to our website and get a full explanation.)
  • If we don't have larger crowds for the Fundamentals of Catholicism class we will meet in the rectory. The times will be from 6:45 to 8:00 p.m.
